Mission Statement

 Within the Public Works Department our main concern is to Provide Services to all Tribal Members in the community. Provide clean and safe Domestic drinking water as well as Commercial Buildings, Maintain BIA Roads, Pave and High country dirt roads along with providing fire breaks in the lower community and in out upper country timber areas to protect our community and natural resources from wildland fire. It is a need to assist the community with the vast growth of the Reservation.

Work Orders

Tribal members may request services provided, but those services must be approved by the Tribal Council. Forms can be picked up from the Public Works Office.

Preparation of Home Sites 

  • House Pads, Excavations, Compaction testing
  • Trenching for electrical and propane installations
  • Water and Sewer connections

 

Community 
Grade & Gravel 

You will need to call to the Public Works office to be put on the List.

  • Vault ordering for De-ceased (Assist with dig-ging for Deceased)

  • Removal / Burial of dead animals
  • Cleaning Culverts

  • Erosion control

  • Traffic control
  • Road maintenance
  • Emergency preparation for winter Rainouts

 

Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

Our Water Technicians Repair the Water Distribution Systems which consists of several miles of underground pipeline, several water storage tanks, and all service line connections, our WTP and WWTP are checked several times daily to ensure water quality and distribution flows, the quality of our water from the treatment plant and wells are tested as directed by the EPA by our State certified Water Technicians. Samples are taken to BSK and Porterville Laboratories to ensure water quality, these results are then sent to EPA for review.

Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) 

Our operators Maintain and Operate the Communities 70,000 Gal. Per Day WWTP Located on Chimney Road, as well as the 33,000-35,000 Gal. Per Day WWTP which is adjacent to the Casino.
